Here’s your weekly recap—the most viewed news stories on our site for the week ended December 3, 2022.
 
Last week, A class-action complaint requesting a jury trial was filed in New York against Sephora USA Inc. alleging that a number of cosmetic products tagged “Clean at Sephora” are loaded with synthetic ingredients, including some known to cause skin irritation or allergic reactions.
 
Also, celebrity hairstylist, colorist and social media influencer Kristin Ess announced she is suing beauty brand incubator and long-term partner Maesa in an attempt to reclaim the rights to her eponymous brand. In a series of Instagram posts, Ess explained, “I am suing my partners for several reasons, but the primary one being that I was misled during this partnership.”
 
Finally, Data-driven influencer marketing platform Traackr unveiled the Top 50 Highest Performing Beauty Brands of October 2022. Topped by Kylie Cosmetics, Sephora and Pat McGrath, the leaderboard measures brand performance in influencer content based on factors such as visibility, impact and trust.
